How to redeem tickets, find piers, and sail smartly.
1. Key Locations
Shiliupu Pier Quay #1 (Main Pier):
📍 Google Maps | 31.2375° N, 121.4996° E
Daytime redemption (11:00-15:00): Redeem tickets here with passport/ID.
Landmark: Look for the “浦江游览” Quay 1 sign near BFC Financial Center.
Shiliupu Pier Quay #2 (Night Pier):
📍 Google Maps | 31.2368° N, 121.4982° E
Look for Quay 2 sign
Evening redemption (17:00 to 21:00): Use pier #2 for night cruises.

2. How to Redeem Ticket
After you enter the Quay tourist service center building, follow the arrow sign on the ground, and redeem your cruise ticket at the glass counter with QR code and the 8 digit code you received via email.

You may choose to redeem the ticket early (say 11am) and come back later for a late afternoon cruise (like 4pm). I recommend redeem your ticket early cause there may be no one working at the counter after 3pm at Quay 1. Night cruise Quay 2 service center will start having representative to help you after 5pm.

Once received your cruise ticket, you may check in at the cruise check in guy and begin boarding your cruise. You need to go though a security check before boarding. Night cruise on weekend are very popular. Arrive early for the queue.

3. Cruise and Light Time
Cruise Timing & Lights
Lights On: 19:00–22:00 daily (Pudong skyline + Bund buildings).
Day Cruises: 10:00–17:00 (less crowded, good for photos).
Night Cruises: 18:00–22:00 (best views).

3. Onboard Tips
Large boats = minimal rocking (most don’t need pills).
Language: No English announcements (95% Chinese only).
Seating:
Upper deck (right side) = best Pudong views.
Ignore VIP seat upsells – just arrive early for free spots.
Weather Prep:
Windy! Bring a jacket/hat (even in summer).
Bugs: Yes, mosquitoes bite despite the breeze – pack spray.
Motion Sickness: The cruise is pretty big and I don’t find motion sickness pills necessary, but you may want to have it handy.
4. Pro Advice
- Arrive Early: Board 20+ mins before departure (night cruises sell out fast).
- Avoid Crowds: Weekdays is less crowded than weekends. Day cruise is less crowded than night cruise.
